LCDA Commences Road Rehabilitation on Major Imota Streets
The Imota Local Community Development Area (LCDA) administration has officially commenced a comprehensive road rehabilitation project covering five major streets within the community, a move welcomed by residents who have long called for improved road infrastructure.
Speaking at the ground-breaking ceremony held at Imota Town Junction, Chairman Hon. Sunday Benson affirmed the administration's commitment to prioritising infrastructure as a foundation for economic growth and improved quality of life.
"Good roads are not just about convenience β they are about connecting our people to opportunities, to markets, to health facilities, and to each other. This project represents our commitment to building Imota from the ground up."
The rehabilitation project will cover the following streets:
- ImotaβAgric Road (3.2 km)
- Market Road Extension
- Secretariat Avenue
- Ebute Link Road
- Community Hall Street
Works will include full road base reconstruction, asphalt surfacing, drainage channel construction, and pedestrian walkways on key corridors. The project is being handled by a consortium of Lagos State-certified contractors and is expected to be completed by September 2026.
Residents and motorists are advised to expect minor traffic diversions during construction periods. The LCDA appeals for patience and cooperation and will provide regular updates through its official channels.
